Normally when a high school basketball team shoots more than 50% from beyond the arc and 46% for the game, they win. That wasn’t the case for the Council Grove High School Braves on Monday evening as they turned it over 20 times to Burlington and ended up on the short end of a 63 - 45 score.
An updated agenda for the City Council meeting tonight at 5:30 p.m., at city hall, has been announced. Old Business: water tower update; New Business: City Lake Committee recommendation: Shannon Kimball; Building and Trades Board recommendation; ordinance for Amending Demolition and Amending Framing; Blighted Structures/Nuisances properties list; Police and Fire Committee recommendation: Jon-Wesley O’Hara; rental of Fairmont Property discussion.
Coach Eric Carter describes Monday night’s contest against Burlington High School as a “rough game to unfortunately lose, when we could have won.”
Vicki Schmidt held a forum and a come and go question period Friday at Territory Ballroom. There were more than 25 in attendance at what Schmidt refers to as a mobile office, the first of its kind that her department has held where there is no immediate disaster they had to deal with – like a tornado or flood. Eight associates from Schmidt’s office also joined the forum to help answer many of the questions posed to them.
