Approximately 75 people – lively and talkative despite the cold and wintery weather – gathered at the Trail Days Arts and History Center Friday night for the Council Grove Community Theatre’s production of Steel Magnolias. It was the first production of a new community theatre in a beautiful new facility.
I know the rumors have been out there for a while, so I stopped by 617 East Main to find out from Mike Muncy what his plans are for the building he has purchased and is renovating. The building, which was formerly owned by MFA Oil and housed the Cigarette Outlet, is undergoing major renovation and has a new roof. Muncy thinks there is a good chance he will be open by October 1. His bakery will be making doughnuts, pastries and breads. In addition, He will be offering candies.
