Veterans of Comedy will seek to bring PG-rated laughter to our community as they take the stage at the Neosho River Amphitheater on Saturday, June 24. The gates will open at 5 p.m and the event begins at 6:30 p.m.

Saturday, June 17, coincides with the final day of Washunga Days and is the inaugural launch of Flint Hills Artisan Fair, a juried fair that will offer something for everyone. It will be free (no wristband required) to attend and be a “must-do” experience. 35 vendors and their white tents will adorn Council Oak Park, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Free parking is available at Council Grove Christian Church, which is next to the park.
Since Washunga Days is named after Chief Washunga of the Kaw Tribe, many look forward to the Kaw Nation returning to Council Grove for the annual festivities. This year, the Kaw Nation will present a powwow on June 16 and 17 at Allegawaho Heritage Memorial Park, 1645 S. 525 Rd., Council Grove. Registration for entrants will be 6-7 p.m. The grand entry begins at 7:30 p.m. both evenings. Admission wristbands are not needed to attend the powwow. Bring your own lawn chair. Allegawaho Park has parking available. There will be a short distance to walk to the arbor.
