The 2025-2027 Community Health Improvement plan will benefit Morris and Chase Counties

The 2025-2027 Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) for Morris and Chase Counties is built around three community-identified priority health issues: Food and Nutrition, Youth and Children, and Healthcare. These priorities emerged from the 2024 Community Health Assessment (CHA), extensive community input, and two key planning workshops held in October 2024. The CHIP is a strategic roadmap designed to improve health outcomes and quality of life for residents over the next three years.

Council Grove takes a loss at Burlington

The Council Grove High School Braves were not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 58-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Burlington Wildcats. “We found ourselves in a battle all night vs the 17-3 Wildcats. Burlington has a ton of kids that can put the ball in the basket and I felt our guys did a great job of defending their actions for the most part. Our 23 turnovers were a problem in the game and we have to do a better job valuing each possession and not force a pass or force a shot on the offensive end of the floor. Those turnovers ultimately were a difference in the game. We did a good job rebounding, we didn’t get back in transition early, but the squad fixed that in a hurry and stopped the Wildcats from any easy run-out points and made them play against our defense.
