USD 417 and USD 284 respond to “The Sentinel” article
An article on February 18, in an online news source called The Sentinel, reported that using a 1 - 4 methodology and state assessment from the 2023-2024 school year, showed this year’s survey of 1,248 public and private schools as having only two schools earning an “A”. One was the public school, Timber Creek Elementary in the Blue Valley School District, and one was private, Brookridge Day School in Overland Park. The report also indicated that 62 schools failed according to the grading system, 25 of them high schools, and more than half are graded “D”.
“The Odd Couple” opens Friday
This Friday night is opening night for the latest production of the Council Grove Community Theatre, the hilarious hit comedy “The Odd Couple” by Neil Simon.
Chase County bridge project to begin Feb. 24
A bridge replacement project is scheduled to begin Monday, Feb. 24, on 130th Road in Chase County. The bridge is located over the Cottonwood River, about 1 mile west of Cedar Point.
