Council Grove receives response regarding KOMA violation

On October 1, 2024, the Council Grove City Council entered an executive session without adequately specifying the topics to be discussed and the reasons for closing the meeting to the public. This lack of clarity did not meet the standards set by KOMA, which requires detailed statements on the subject matter and justifications for privacy to ensure transparency and public trust.

CGHS graduate Rose Wittman to be inducted into JRI Hall of Fame

(KSAL) Rose Robidou Wittman, a 1976 Council Grove High School graduate and longtime Salina teacher and coach will be honored with the 2025 JRI Hospitality Hall of Fame Award. The JRI Hall of Fame, launched by JRI Hospitality, recognizes and honors individuals who have made significant contributions to the Salina community, particularly in youth sports and related areas, by demonstrating leadership, teamwork, organization, and inspiring others Wittman has been in the Salina community since 1990, serving as a physical education teacher, as well as a coach in volleyball, basketball and track across Roosevelt Lincoln, Salina Central High School, Sacred Heart High School, Salina South Middle and South High School. Leading her teams to many victories throughout her career, Wittman has been recognized for her achievements by a multitude of organizations.
