Nearly three decades have passed since twins Linda Cosgrove and Rhonda Bryant were invited to paint a Santa Fe Trail mural on a hallway wall at Council Grove Elementary School (CGES). Today, the 22-foot-long historical mural remains a beloved feature of the building, despite coming close to being painted over on two separate occasions.

The Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA) has listed Council Grove’s Bradley Doornbos and Herington’s Reid Griffiths as wrestlers to watch, each earning a preseason No. 3 ranking in their respective weight classes.
