The Dwight Community Christmas Celebration, sponsored by the Dwight Community Development Corporation, will be Sunday, December 8, at 4 p.m., at the Dwight Community Church.
The Thanksgiving weekend Pigskin Pick ‘Em Football contest was a close one with the winner correctly guessing 16 out of 17 contests. There were two such contestants – Rosie Solt of Belvue, Kansas and Debbie Miller of Council Grove. Solt fended off Miller by winning the tiebreaker, which was the Las Vegas Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs game. The Chiefs won 19-17, making the total score 36. Solt’s tiebreaking guess of 45 was the closest to the tiebreaking score. Solt will receive a $25 gift certificate that is redeemable at any of the contest sponsors.
Body Venture, an engaging educational program from the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE), will be coming to USD 417 on Tuesday, Dec. 10. The exhibit will be set up at Council Grove Elementary School from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and will be for all students Kindergarten through 6th Grade in the district.
