On Wednesday, Council Grove City Administrator Nick Jones addressed concerns raised in a Letter to the Editor by Karen Exon regarding the city’s timeline for lake lot purchase and annexation contracts. During the November 5, 2024, Council meeting, the governing body extended the original response deadline from November 15, 2024, to January 15, 2024. The Council also authorized the City Administrator, City Attorney, and Attorney Pat Riordan to finalize a draft contract for the initiative.

KHP TRAINING ACADEMY GRADUATE -- Trooper Alvin Holmes III, formerly of Council Grove, is a Class 70 graduate of the Kansas Highway Patrol Training Academy. The ceremony was held Tuesday in Salina. These Troopers have completed 13 weeks of field training and are providing service courtesy and protection to the citizens of Kansas. Holmes’ duty station is Shawnee County.

As we approach the end of the first semester of the 2024-25 school year, it’s a natural time for reflection. Not only are we closing out the calendar year, but we’re also reaching the midpoint of our academic journey, making it an ideal moment to pause and take stock of our progress.
