On the afternoon of Saturday, October 11, two special programs are planned for the annual Pioneer Bluffs Fall Roundup, with special appeal for those who love animals, ranching, and music.
The Santa Fe Trail Association’s traveling timeline is in Council Grove through Saturday, September 27, at 124 W. Main, which is the Sisters Grove Building (former ly Bowman Building).
The certified Santa Fe Trail site known as Rock Creek Crossing, located six miles east of Council Grove on U.S. Highway 56 and a quarter-mile north on 200 Road, stands today as a testament to both generosity and persistence.
A plaque at the Wagon Show, held in Council Grove last weekend shows the difference in shoe sizes between the various pack animals used on the Santa Fe Trail.
The Council Grove Lady Braves competed Monday, September 22, at the Osage City Varsity Golf Meet, finishing in fourth place as a team in a tight race among the top schools.
