To program radio repeater, storm disaster declared
The Morris County Commissioner meeting was called to order on Tuesday, September 16th, 2025, at 9 a.m. Commissioners David Fox and Wayne Kohler were present. Bill Kassebaum, County Counselor, and Chelsey Schmidt, County Clerk, were present.
The Church Ladies to close symposium with free concert
The Santa Fe Trail Symposium will conclude its weekend in Council Grove with a free outdoor concert by The Church Ladies on Saturday, September 27, at the Neosho Riverwalk Amphitheater. The harmony- driven trio will take the stage at 8 p.m. as the finale to the symposium’s Saturday program. The performance is open to the public, and attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating.
Weda Skirts to Perform Free Concert at Amphitheater
As part of the Santa Fe Trail Symposium festivities in Council Grove, the Weda Skirts will perform a free concert at the Neosho Riverwalk Amphitheater on Friday, September 26, beginning at 8 p.m. The concert, which is open to the public, will follow the symposium’s special Friday evening banquet held over and alongside the Neosho River. Dinner tickets for the banquet are still available for $35 at Destination: Council Grove, 512 E. Main, or at the Council Grove Republican office.
Greenwood Cemetery tour brings history to life on Thursday
As part of the Santa Fe Trail Association’s Symposium, the public is invited to a special tour of Greenwood Cemetery in Council Grove. The event promises to be both unusual and entertaining as some of the city’s pioneers “come to life” at their gravesites.
