The USD 417 Reunion, held Saturday, May 28 at the Morris County 4-H Building was attended by over 200 who consider Council Grove High School to be their home school. The meal was prepared by the Hays House Restaurant and Jason Jones, Alta Vista. Due to the COVID – 19 pandemic, the reunion was last held in 2019 so there were many classes to recognize for marker years. George Shellenberger (1957) was given a gift for being the oldest one in attendance while George Asebedo (2011) received a gift for being the youngest one there.

Pastor Ray Pyle will be guest pastor at Life Church, 24 N Union, for worship services May 1 and May 15. Pastor Ray and Brenda Pile started their ministry in a small town in Nebraska in 1976. They retired from pastoral ministry in 2020 after serving 3 churches over a span of 44 years. Since retiring, they volunteer their time to encourage rural pastors and churches through Rural Compassion, a ministry of the Assemblies of God. They share in rural churches and also conduct training seminars for rural pastors. They have found that there are many advantages and opportunities for ministry in small towns that are not available in larger cities. The Pyles are originally from Coffeyville, KS have four grown children and currently reside in El Dorado, KS.
