Jean (Lynette) Ecklund
Mary Lou Pitts, age 72, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
Carol’s life began on February 11, 1937, in Dwight, KS. She is the daughter of Henry Edmond and Kathryne Elizabeth (Pickering) Say. Carol graduated from Wilsey High School, in the class of 1955. She was united in marriage to Gail Chester Burns on June 23, 1957, at the Wilsey Christian Church.
James L. Andres, aged 84, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023, at a Topeka Hospital. Jim was born on March 27, 1939, in Alta Vista, to Louis and Grace (Meyers) Anders. He grew up in Council Grove and later proudly served in the United States Army.
Wilma “Jean” Anderson, 97, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2023. She was born July 8, 1926, to Gus and Mildred Wandersee of Dwight.
Paul Peters, 76, Council Grove, passed away in Topeka on September 24, 2023.
“Marvin” Dean Smith peacefully passed away September 20, 2023, at Diversicare retirement home. Dean was born January 6, 1933 in Valencia, Kansas to Robert and Rinda Smith. Dean, the youngest of 4 to brothers Harley, Fred, and Robert, Jr., went to school and graduated from Silver Lake High School. While in school, Dean enjoyed playing football, as he was quite the runner. There were many through the years that tried to race him, but few could ever beat him in a foot race. He also loved to always tell how he won the spelling bee. Shortly after graduating high school, he met a young lady from Burlingame, Kansas. On October 17, 1954, he married Donna Gifford. This next year would have marked 70 years of being married to each other.
Donald Lawrence Charboneau, 92, from Council Grove, KS entered peacefully into the home of his heavenly father on September 20, 2023. He was born January 5,1931 in River Rouge, MI to George and Evelyn (Jones) Charboneau. He was the fifth oldest of seventeen children.
Terry Karmann left this world September 11, 2023, after a brief battle with an aggressive cancer.
