Marlin L. Shenk

Marlin L Shenk, 88, retired local architectural engineer, passed away on December 5, 2023.

He was born August 23, 1935 in Dover, KS and spent most of his life in Wichita and Lake Council Grove where he enjoyed over 3 decades of lake life with his family and friends at “The Grail”.

He married the former Meri Rose Van Fossan in 1962 who survives him. He is also survived by his two daughters Melanie Bockwinkel (Kevin), Shawnee KS; Tiffany Goodvin (Woodrow), Sandpoint ID; four grandchildren (Kelena, Hadley, Davis, & Liam); three sisters and several nieces and nephews.

Marlin graduated from the University of Kansas and was an active member of the KU Alumni Association and loved cheering on the Jayhawks! He was a talented designer, builder and fabricator.

Marlin and Meri Rose were avid dog lovers and have rescued many collies over the years.

A visitation for Marlin will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E 13th St N, Wichita, Kansas 67206, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m.
