The newly reorganized Heart of the Flint Hills Chapter of the Santa Fe Trail Association, will hold its annual meeting at 6 p.m., Thursday, November 17 at the Dealership Building (located on the Santa Fe Trail) , 318 West Main Street in Historic Council Grove. The Heart of the Flint Hills Chapter encompasses Morris, Lyon, Wabaunsee and Osage Counties.
Council Grove Community Theatre’s first production “Good and Evil in the Grove” was performed over the weekend with 4 sold out performances. Discussions are already starting about bringing this show back next year. This event was written and directed by Dave May with original music and artwork was completed by Dawson May. Poster design was by Emily May. Costuming was by Sharon Haun. House Manager was Lori May. The Trail Trolley driver was Jim Norton.
Jordyn Picolet, senior, and Kodi Downes, junior, both medaled for Council Grove at the KSHSAA 3A State Cross Country meet at Rim Rock Farms, Lawrence, on Saturday.
The Council Grove Braves (7-2) won a football playoff game for the first time ever when they pummeled Fredonia (4-5) Friday night at Legion Field, 48-8.
