CGES Kindergartners Reflect On Thanksgiving

Children are our future. It’s fun to see how they watch us as we establish family traditions. The Council Grove Republican reached out to our friends at Council Grove Elementary School and asked kindergarten teachers Mrs. Brier Blythe, Ms Milo Butler and Mrs. Robin Frye to ask their students a couple of holiday questions. The questions they asked were “How do you cook a turkey?” and “What is something you are thankful for?” Half of the children answered the first question, and the other half answered the second question. We hope you’ll enjoy the responses.

KS 177 NORTH IS OPEN -- The above photos show a stretch of highway looking south near Munkres Creek (see Lull Meadows on the right) and a road worker removing the familiar barriers that caused much driver angst. The first phase of K-177 reconstruction that caused the road to be closed for nearly eight months is complete. The approximately 7.7 miles of newly built road is a welcome sight, as travelers had to take long official and unofficial detours. The second phase of construction will close the road again on March 28, 2023. Congratulations to all who completed this massive project slightly ahead of schedule! Wildcat Construction asks that you still be cautious, as they have workers north of Alta Vista working on the shoulders.
