Council Grove’s wrestling Braves performed well Friday at home to grab second place in the annual Council Grove Invitational Tournament. CG had four champions and four runners-up.
The Lady Braves played and won against Chase County in the 3rd Place game of the Flint Hills League Tournament in Emporia at White Auditorium. The Lady Braves played a good 1st quarter on both the defense and offensive end. At the end of the 1st quarter the Lady Braves were down 10-8. The 2nd quarter saw the Lady Braves keep fighting on the defensive end with good man defense, but their offensive skills were lacking and they went into halftime down 21-15.
Calendar dates must be circled in red for the EquiFest of Kansas, March 16-19, at Salina.
Nechelle R. White, Region 2 Long-Term Care Ombudsman, which includes Morris County, will provide a special presentation on a support service for Kansas seniors when she speaks at the Council Grove Senior Center on Monday, January 30 after the noon meal. The program on the LTC Ombudsmen support service is an excellent opportunity for the senior population to learn more about senior services locally and statewide.
