Rehearsals for the Voices of the Wind People Pageant will begin next Tuesday, August 24, at 6:30 p.m. at the Neosho Riverwalk Amphitheater. All are welcome to join this group of cast members and stage crew to help tell the story of Council Grove, the Kaw Nation and the Santa Fe Trail. Many parts are non-speaking. A new mural at the Council Grove Marina created by owners Skip and Lori Cansler details the history of the lake, with Lori saying that she wanted to do something for the Marina that tied in with the local and historical aspects of Council Grove.
Busy schedules, hybrid learning and demanding coursework have affected students’ academic performance over the last year-plus. The months since a pandemic was declared in March of 2020 have been unlike any other, and confronting the academic challenges of the pandemic may have adversely affected some students’ grades.
No two students are the same, and that diversity is often reflected in the activities kids choose to participate in outside the classroom. Academic clubs, scholastic sports and arts programs are just a few of the many extracurricular activities available to students. Such offerings ensure students with various interests have access to school-based activities outside the classroom.
