KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — A 2-year-old girl who was in a car stolen from a Kansas City gas station has been found safe. The girl was in the back of the car when it was stolen around 5:40 p.m. Tuesday from a gas station. The girl was found nearly two hours later in Kansas City, Kan. after a woman called police to say a young child was in her backyard.
A concert of prayer will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 22, at the Council Grove High School commons. The event is an opportunity for the community to gather together for the purpose of praying for anyone involved in educating children at USD 417, students, support staff, families and home schoolers.
Morris County saw 21.17 inches of rain in the first half of 2021 and 1.2 inches of snow, according to measurements released by the Corps of Engineers office at the Council Grove Reservoir. Total moisture in the first half of the year amounted to 22.37 inches That amount compares to 17.34
The Harvesters Community Food Network, in partnership with Alta Vista High View Church, will have a food distribution on August 24 at 12 p.m. The food will be distributed directly from the truck into vehicles. Those attending are asked to bring their own bags if possible.
