The Council Grove City Council met at City Hall for its first meeting of the month Tuesday night. In the consent agenda minutes from the previous meeting and appropriations were approved. El Rancho Viejo applied for and received a renewal of its liquor license.
Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve announced that the preserve is now accepting applications for the summer 2023 Youth Conservation Corps (YCC). The YCC is a summer employment program for young men and women, ages 15-18, who work and learn together on projects that further the development and conservation of the natural and cultural resources of the United States.

The USD 417 Board of Education meeting Monday night was three hours long, with nearly two hours of the night spent in an executive session dealing with a non-elected personnel exception under KOMA. The District Office was full of district stakeholders, who attended the meeting to see if there was an update on any renewal of the USD 417 Superintendent’s contract for 20242025.
Lady Braves Coach Eric Carter announced late Monday that Jessica Filkin has been selected for the Flint Hills League All Conference Women’s Basketball Team. She was awarded a position on the 2nd Team.
