Local Police Dept. Looking For Man Who Fled On Foot

At approximately 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 8 the Council Grove Police Department responded to a reported domestic in the 200 block of North Union Street. The following individual, Colten Brady, fled the scene on foot on 825 Road, just north of Council Grove.

Flint Hills District 4-Hers participated in 4-H Club Day on Saturday, February 25, at the Chase County High School in Cottonwood Falls. Winners were chosen from each county in the event categories.

In late January, I caught up with Mary Kay Myers. It was in the middle of winter and I could not help but see her Facebook posts of fishing in the middle of winter and at what seemed to be all times of the day. It was about the time that another man in a boat, got frozen in, at Milford Reservoir and had to be rescued. We at the Council Grove Republican wondered, “Who does that and why?” So, we asked.
USD 417 Early Childhood Screenings To Be March 23, 24

USD 417 childhood screenings will be held for children ages birth to 4 years old on Thursday, March 23 and Friday, March 24. A Tiny Tots teacher will be present to screen children birth-3 years of age on Thursday only.
