Zollner Confirmed As Exec. Director Of Kansas State Historical Soceity
Patrick Zollner has been confirmed as the Executive Director of the Kansas State Historical Society by the Kansas Senate. Zollner served as the Acting Executive Director of the KSHS from May to December 2022 following the passing of Executive Director Jennie Chinn in April 2022. “Patrick is dedicated to the historic and cultural preservation of Kansas,” Governor Kelly said. “His leadership will help propel that mission for future generations, so that the story of our great state lives on. Thank you to the Kansas Senate for confirming his appointment.”
CGHS Braves Track To Begin Season With 45 On The Roster
The Council Grove High School Braves Track and Field team will kick off the 2023 season this Friday. Varsity will compete at the Emporia State Relays and the Junior Varsity will compete at Chapman. At Emporia, field events will start at 3 p.m. and running events will start at 4:15 p.m. For the Junior Varsity at Chapman, field events will start at 4 p.m. and running events at 5:30 p.m.

DETOUR -- The RoadSafe crews were in Council Grove yesterday setting up K-177 detours
Van Hits Deer
Kealy Fox, 23, Manhattan, was traveling southbound on K177 when a deer emerged from the west ditch. She was unable to avoid striking the deer, causing minor damage to her 2017 Chevrolet van. The accident occurred on March 15.
