The article about war in Afghanistan was as good as we can tell it. There enough blame to go around for both parties. At least it’s over and no more soldiers getting arms or legs blown off. Thank God for that. Keep up the good work.
FREEDOM’S SYMBOL -- Members of the Fredrick Phillips American Legion Post 121 recently refurbished the flagpole and base at Diversicare of Council Grove. The pole was removed, stripped and repainted and the base of the flag was repainted and a new flag hoisted. Pictured are Post 121 members (l-r) Angela Berry, Charles Aikens, Jim Crosby and Tony Elias. Not pictured are Commander Rebecca Elias and Arthur Wells. Post 121 will next work on the restoration of the 98 flagpoles at Greenwood Cemetery.
