Pat Potts Receives IMPACT Award

During a celebration of National Girls and Women in Sports Day during the K-State women’s basketball game against Texas Tech last weekend, Chase County native Pat Potts was presented with K-State’s 2022 Girls and Women in Sports IMPACT Award. Potts is the first recipient of the award, established to recognize a member of the K-State Family who has directly impacted the lives of girls and women through the power of sports.

Shawn Tiffany Shares Status Of Kansas Beef With Rotary

Shawn Tiffany, of Tiffany Cattle and president-elect of the Kansas Livestock Association (KLA), encouraged Rotarians to “Show up, get involved and let your voices be heard.” That seems to be the unspoken motto of the KLA as ranchers of all types and ag members, realizing there is power in numbers, have united. Through their collective voices, ranchers are lobbying for policies that protect the Kansas provider from the four powerhouse meatpacking companies in the United States – Tyson, Cargill Inc., JBS SA and National Beef Inc., two of which are Brazilian and one with Chinese ties.
