Tammie Livingston Wins Week 2 of Football Contest

Tammie Livingston, of Council Grove, is the winner of Week 2 Pigskin Pick ‘Em Football Contest. Livingston correctly guessed 13 out of 17 game winners. She will receive a $25 gift certificate, redeemable at any one of our 17 sponsoring businesses. The tie-breaker game score of 83 in the Oklahoma at Tulsa contest was not a factor as Livingston won the contest outright but is interesting that Oklahoma won the contest 66-17.

Bremer Captures 3rd In Boys Jr. High Race

The Braves took advantage of a beautiful and competitive day at The Orchard by posting another round of season best and PR times. The Jr. High runners started it off with great races, highlighted by Carter Bremer eclipsing his previous PR by 20 seconds while capturing 3rd in the boys jr. high race finishing just seconds in front of 4th & 5th, and Hayden Horton smashing his PR by over 2 minutes.

Commissioners Appoint Dr. John Price As Morris County Special Deputy Coroner

The Morris County Commissioners met Tuesday. A summary of their activities includes a report from Morris County Sheriff Jay Simecka. Simecka reported on employee staffing changes. The new radio tower at the Sheriff’s Office has been installed; wiring has not yet been started. Construction of the Sheriff’s Office and Dispatch Addition/Remodel Project continues to progress; the roof is completed.
