Council Grove Area Foundation Celebrates Successful Match Month Event

The Council Grove Area Foundation (CGAF) is excited to announce the overwhelming success of its Match Month Event held in November, where a remarkable $180,682.82 was generously donated. Leveraging its $70,000 grant from the Patterson Family Foundation, CGAF maximized the impact of these donations, bringing the grand total to an impressive $250,707.82.

We are titling it “In Our Rearview Mirror.” Although it’s important to look forward and set present and future goals, it’s fun and sometimes sobering to look at where we were . . . 25 years ago. The column may have short tidbits of what was going on or may take a journalistic view at times. The information in the column will be based on articles from the 1999 Council Grove Republican. Barbara Adams Wins Week 18, Chiefs Host Dolphins in Playoffs

As has been the case in many other weeks of the Council Grove Pigskin Pick ‘Em Football Contest, there was a three-way tie for first place that could not be decided until the end of the Sunday night game with the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins. Ultimately, Barbara Adams became the winner when the Buffalo Bills outplayed the Miami Dolphins 21-14. Adams correctly guessed 14 out of 17 contests and with a guess at 45, she was closest to the tie breaking score of 35. She will receive a $25 gift certificate that is redeemable at any of the contest sponsors.
