Gary Floyd, of rural Herington and a resident of Morris County, has announced his candidacy for Morris County Commissioner – District 3. District 3 is the largest district by land, running north and south through Wilsey and west to the Morris County line.
The City of Council Grove and the Council Grove Recreation Department have announced that the 70th Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 30, at the Fairground Park and Bolton’s Soccer Complex.
The Council Grove Republican’s annual Easter Ham Giveaway Contest began Monday and will continue until 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 27. To participate and have the opportunity to win one of multiple hams, fill out the form in the Council Grove Republican from yesterday or next week or pick up a form at Pizza Hut, Ray’s Apple Market or Council Grove Republican. There is one entry per person allowed. The drawing and winners will be announced in the March 28 edition of the Republican.
Together With Veterans AND Morris County will hold its first, open to the public, S.A.V.E (Signs, Ask, Validate, Expediate) training on Wed-nesday, March 20, at 7 p.m., at the First Congregational Church at 400 West Main Street in Council Grove.
The City Council agenda has been announced for the March 19, meeting. It will be at 5:30 p.m., at City Hall.
