CG Jr High Wrestlers Compete At SE Saline

Twenty-four Council Grove Junior High wrestlers traveled Monday to SE Saline to open their season. “I was proud of our wrestlers; we learned a lot about ourselves and competed well. There were several inexperienced wrestlers on the mat, and we have things now to work on to continue to improve,” said Coach Dustin San Ramoni. Steel Magnolia Tickets On Sale Saturday at CG Trade & Tourism

The “Steel Magnolias” by Robert Harling performance tickets will be on sale 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., at the Council Grove Area Trade & Tourism Association Saturday, February 11. Five performances are available – February 24, 25, 26 and March 3 and 4. The production will be held at the Trail Days Arts & History Center at 803 W Main, Council Grove.

Republican To Begin Tribute To Rural Schools Of Northwest Morris County

The Council Grove Republican will begin a long-term weekly series next Tuesday on excerpts from “Fond Memories of Rural Schools; Northwest Morris Kansas. The book had its second printing in 2022. It is a fascinating look at rural schools in northwest Morris County. The book was created by Friends of the White City Library and took years to complete.
