A unique musical experience is coming to Chase County, as local favorite and rising country star Logan Mize will be performing in the area. Born in Clearwater, Kansas, Mize has spent the last 14 years in Nashville, honing his skills as a country artist and songwriter. Now, he’s back in his home state and eager to connect with local fans.

The Council Grove High School Braves clinched a playoff berth by a slim tiebreaker, largely thanks to their decisive 21-point victory over then-ranked Riley County in Week 4. Securing the #13 seed on the East, Council Grove (5-3) will face a familiar postseason challenge as they travel to take on #4-seed Caney Valley (6-2) for the third consecutive year. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Friday.
Sunday, saw the Council Grove Softball Club finish their season with a benefit tournament for Council Grove resident Olivia Salas and her Family. Olivia had been injured and unable to work. The Club’s Steering Committee voted unanimously to host the tourney in her honor.
