The Morris County Commissioner meeting was called to order on Tuesday, June 2nd, 2026, at 9 a.m. Commissioners Jim Barber, David Fox and Wayne Kohler were present. Chelsey Schmidt, County Clerk, and Bill Kassebaum, County Counselor, were present.
The Manhattan Mercury has named Council Grove junior Reid Buttrey as the Spring All-Flint Hills Male Athlete of the Year.
What began as a Washunga Days fishing derby has grown into a hands-on outdoor experience designed to introduce youth and families to fishing, wildlife and other outdoor activities.
Country-rock artist Austin Snell will headline the 2026 Washunga Days concert Saturday, June 20, at the Neosho River Amphitheater in Council Grove.
