The Morris County Farmers Market will open its 2026 season on Tuesday, May 19, at the corner of South Mission and Main Street in Council Grove, Kansas. The market, which promotes local vendors and their products, will be held weekly on Tuesdays from 4 to 6 p.m. through early fall.
The Council Grove Braves continued to reinforce their status as one of the top baseball teams in Class 3A Tuesday, sweeping a pair of hardfought games from the Chapman Irish on the road.

The Morris County Commissioner meeting was called to order on Tuesday, April 21st, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. Commissioners Jim Barber, David Fox and Wayne Kohler were present. Bill Kassebaum, County Counselor, and Chelsey Schmidt, County Clerk, were present.
A few local residents gathered to plant a tree near the Guardianb of the Grove Monday in celebration of Arbor Day which was last Wednesday.
