Larry Adams Wins Football Contest

The local winner of Week 17 of the PowerPoints Football Contest was Larry Adams of Council Grove. He scored 127 points and will receive a $25 gift certificate to be used at any area sponsor of the contest.
DAR To Honor Vietnam Widows

The Council Oak Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, in conjunction with the Department of Defense, will host a recognition event for widows of veterans who served from November of 1955 through May 15, 1975. This event recognizes servicemen of any branch in any capacity of service and is a continuation of the 75th anniversary of the Vietnam War commemoration.

The Council Grove High School Braves Scholars’ Bowl team won the Southeast of Saline 3A Scholars’ Bowl Regional on Monday evening to become Regional Champions. The team will next compete at 3A State hosted by Wichita-Collegiate on February 13.
