Back by popular demand, the Morris County Historical Society will host a special come-and-go “historical” tour of Council Grove’s Greenwood Cemetery from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, October 26. The event offers visitors a unique and engaging opportunity to meet some of the community’s early residents as they “come to life” at their gravesites.
Area residents and business leaders are invited to a Meet & Greet to welcome Dr. Tamara Daniel, the new president of Butler Community College, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, October 29, at Butler of Council Grove, 131 W. Main St., Council Grove, Kansas. Light refreshments will be served, and Dr. Daniel will share remarks at noon.
More than 100 residents filled the Council Grove Junior-Senior High School auditorium Wednesday night to learn about — and weigh in on — the future of local school facilities. The meeting, hosted by USD 417 and its architectural partners, presented two major facility options, discussed financial impacts, and gathered community feedback as the district considers a bond election in March 2026.
