LAWRENCE (Release) - Kansas Volleyball is set to host the Colgate Raiders in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Friday evening at Horejsi Family Volleyball Arena.
(TOPEKA CAPITAL-JOURNAL) Tyson Foods on Monday announced to employees it would close its facility in Emporia in February 2025. The plant has more than 800 employees.

The Thanksgiving weekend Pigskin Pick ‘Em Football contest was a close one with the winner correctly guessing 16 out of 17 contests. There were two such contestants – Rosie Solt of Belvue, Kansas and Debbie Miller of Council Grove. Solt fended off Miller by winning the tiebreaker, which was the Las Vegas Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs game. The Chiefs won 19-17, making the total score 36. Solt’s tiebreaking guess of 45 was the closest to the tiebreaking score. Solt will receive a $25 gift certificate that is redeemable at any of the contest sponsors.
