MCH’s Kevin Leeper praises staff and Community
When a newspaper reporter asks you if you have any comments on something, I never immediately say no. However, when it pertains to this mighty snowstorm and the work our hospital team performed during the “heat” of it, I was reticent at first because I do not know each and everything extra everyone did. Nevertheless, I will venture forward with what I do know to date with the hopes of not offending anyone left out – and can catch up with them later. At MCH, we do have numerous everyday workers who do outstanding things on any given day. But I feel the commitment just to find your way through three to five foot snow drifts in the dark of early morning or early evening, to take over a shift of one of your colleagues, was truly extraordinary over the past 2-3 days! And for a provider and an x-ray and lab technician to camp out for three days so they would be here if needed were also extraordinary efforts. The same applies to our dietary help and of course our amazing maintenance engineer who had to deal with the power outage and heater leaks in the middle of two consecutive nights.
