It was a good night for the Council Grove High School Braves basketball team Friday with a tough battle of conference opponent Mission Valley. The Braves didn’t have a strong shooting night -- hitting 35% of their shots from the field (24% from 3 pt line) and 50% from the line -- but their tough defense led them to a 49-36 victory over the Vikings.

There are 47 total bowl or playoff games in our annual 2024-2025 Bowl Bash contest. That includes four college football playoff first round games, four quarterfinal games, two semifinals, and the national championship on Monday, January 20, 2025. The Council Grove Republican Bowl Bash is concentrating on three weeks of bowls, culminating in the final national championship game. Don’t delay.
