The Council Grove area has undergone a significant shift in its approach to trade and tourism, moving away from a traditional Chamber of Commerce model to a more inclusive, community-driven Convention and Visitor’s Bureau (CVB).

Butler Community College has released the President’s and Dean’s Honor Roll lists for the Fall 2024 semester, with over 1300 students being recognized for their academic achievements.
In its Monday edition, the Wichita Eagle captured Jaxon Heath, a Council Grove High School graduate, preparing the ice at Intrust Bank Arena. Heath, formerly of Council Grove and a former Council Grove Republican carrier, is a Senior Operations Supervisor at the arena in Wichita, having started there part time in October 2019 and moving into full time in July of 2021. Heath attended college at Butler Community College and then received a degree from WSU in Sports Management.
