Morris County ‘24-25 YEC competition results announced

Greater Morris County Development Corporation, in association with the NetWork Kansas E-Community Partnership, hosted the annual Morris County YEC Competition on Tuesday, March 4, at White City Schools, White City, Kansas. Thirty- four individuals and seventeen teams representing Hope and White City Schools presented their business concepts with a written business plan, a formal presentation to judges, and a tabletop display.

MC Deputy Andrew Lautt and K-9 Kimber complete training

Morris County K-9 Deputy Andrew Lautt and K9 Kimber completed a 240-hour K-9 Handler and Certification Course on Feb. 28., 2025. The training was provided by the Kansas City Missouri Police Department K-9 Unit. Deputy Lautt and Kimber trained on narcotic search and alert in structures and vehicles, Patrol 1 -including suspect location, apprehension, bite and release commands, and tracking.

CG Braves win, advance to sub-state championship

The Council Grove Braves delivered a commanding performance on Wednesday, March 5, securing a pivotal 64-58 victory over Nemaha Central in sub-state play. The win not only propels the Braves into the Sub-State #2 Championship but also serves as payback for an earlier defeat on the gridiron, when Nemaha Central bested Council Grove in the Braves’ state football championship quest.
