Over the coming weeks, the Postal Service is expected to begin implementing its Regional Transportation Optimization initiative. The RTO will end afternoon collections at nearly three-fourths of the country’s post offices and add another day to delivery times for outgoing mail and packages.

Six Lady Braves’ wrestlers qualified Saturday at the Rossville Super- regional for the 321A State Wrestling Tournament in Hays in late February. Council Grove finished an impressive fourth as a team out of 42 schools participating.
The CG Braves battled the Cair Paravel Lions Thursday night and came away with a 51-39 win. The Lions were led by Pavlik who scored 17 of the Lion’s 39 points. Braves Coach Bruce Hula said, “It was good for us to play a team that played primarily a zone defense and even a junk defense going into post season play. Our guys showed a lot of resilience being able to score against everything they through at us. We were up 5 at half and then a 17-9 3rd quarter helped us extend our lead and hold on from there.
