The Morris County Commissioner meeting was called to order on Tuesday, March 4th, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. Commissioners Wayne Kohler, Jim Barber and David Fox were present. Chelsey Schmidt, County Clerk, and Bill Kassebaum, County Counselor, were present.
Matt Forge, owner of Forge Harvesting, shared his journey and insights into the custom silage harvesting business during his presentation to the Council Grove Rotary Club on Wednesday. What he initially thought was a missed opportunity turned into a thriving venture spanning multiple states. His success is attributed to long hours, hard work, and sharp business decisions.
Council Grove High School alumna Michelle “Miki” Bowman has been nominated to become the vice-chair for supervision at the US Federal Reserve, according to a White House official. Bowman, the daughter of Hank and Jan White of Council Grove, previously worked at Farmers & Drovers Bank before ascending to the role of Kansas Banking Commissioner.
More than 1,300 students completed degree requirements from Kansas State University in fall 2024.
