Funeral services for Russell Sigle will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 30, 2021, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, also at the church, with visitation following in the fellowship hall.

Russell Sigle, Council Grove, passed away Sept. 23, 2021, at the University of Kansas Health System.

Shelley Laun (McDiffett) Lee was born on February 14, 1957, in Junction City, Kansas. She attended Council Grove High School, graduating in 1975.

Deb and Ken England, friends, and family will have a Celebration of Life for Jesse England on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at the Council Grove Reservoir.

Billy Joe Phillips, 85, of Council Grove, passed away on September 3, 2021, at the Morris County Hospital.

Ella Mae Schroer, 99, died September 5, 2021, at Diversicare Council Grove. She was born November 1, 1921, in Bazaar, to Henry C. and Martha Amelia (Wehrenberg) Brecht. Ella Mae was a devoted homemaker and farm wife. She was an active and prominent member of Grace Lutheran Church and was secretary and Sunday School Superintendent. She was a member of Ladies Aid and held offices as president, secretary, treasurer, Christian growth, Mission service and flower fund. She enjoyed sewing and volunteering at the nursing home. She was also a member of Hillside Country Club. Ella Mae graduated from Chase County High School in 1939.

Marjorie Munkres Kendall, long time resident of Council Grove, passed away September 3, 2021, at Diversicare of Council Grove. She was the daughter of Fred and Sadie (Carlson) Nixon.

Roger Milton Heaton, 83, of Council Grove, KS passed away peacefully on August 31, 2021, at Diversicare of Council Grove.
