Abigail (Abby) Denice Rose Thompson, 18 months, Herington, unexpectedly left this world on January 19, 2022 at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. She was surrounded by family.

Kay Lorie (Sanford) Hight, 73 of Council Grove, KS passed away Thursday, January 14, 2022 at the Morris County Hospital after a short battle with Covid.

Leo Wm. Oberle, 80, of Lorraine, KS, went home to be with his Savior Jesus Christ, Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Ellsworth County Medical Center in Ellsworth, KS.

Kay Edward Blankley, 81, passed away at his home with family by his side on December 31, 2021.

Norman C. Triemer, 78, rural Bushong, Kansas, passed away at his home on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at his home.

Curtis W. Syring, 91, of Herington, died Tuesday, January 11, 2022. Curtis was born at home September 14, 1930 at Rock Creek in Wabunsee County, Kansas, to Herman W. Syring and Alta V. (Kahle) Syring. He grew up in Alta Vista, Kansas. He loved learning and wholeheartedly participated in all aspects of education during his school years. He enjoyed and excelled in all school sports. After graduating from Alta Vista High School in 1948, Curtis enlisted in the United States Navy where he received education as an electrician. He was called back into active duty in 1952. During the Korean War, serving as Electrician’s Mate on board an LSM Navy ship. He was honorably discharged from the Navy in December of 1953.

Gerald (Butch) Lee Buchman was born January 1, 1946, in Manhattan, KS to Thomas L. and Amelia K. Schroeder Buchman of Alta Vista, KS. He passed away at his home in Emporia KS on January 8, 2022, after an 8 year courageous battle with a rare neurological disease. His early years were spent in Alta Vista and after his father’s death in 1950 he and his mother relocated to Manhattan, KS. He attended elementary and junior high school in Manhattan and graduated from Alta Vista High School in 1964. After graduation he attended automotive school at Pittsburgh State.
