Celebrating Excellence and Looking Ahead in USD 417 October has been a month of recognition and progress in USD 417 Morris County Schools, and I’m excited to share some wonderful news with our community.
According to a recent statewide analysis by Stacker, using 2023 fiveyear estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau, Kansas counties were ranked by the percentage of homes built in 1939 or earlier. The study highlights where pre-war homes remain most prevalent and underscores their continued importance in defining Kansas’s architectural landscape.
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has confirmed that all required water tests for the City of Council Grove meet state drinking water standards. As of Tuesday, October 28, 2025, the Boil Water Advisory for Council Grove has been officially lifted.
Two outstanding USD 417 teachers were honored Wednesday at assemblies and were nominated as teachers of the year for 2027
The Gathering in the Grove Gala will be held Friday, November 7, 2025, at The Territory Ballroom, 117–119 W. Main Street in Council Grove. Doors open at 6 p.m., with dinner and the evening program beginning at 7 p.m. Guests are invited to embrace the theme “Wildrags over Black Tie”, a Western formal style with flair.
