The regular March meeting of the USD 417 Board of Education will be held at 6 p.m., Monday, March 18, at the District Office, 17 Wood St., Council Grove. The meeting was rescheduled from the normal second Monday, due to spring break.
T. L. Davis and Jeff May, two Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) representatives from the Kansas City office, were in Council Grove Tuesday for a special early morning Morris County Commission meeting held at the Road Department. Others at the meeting were County Clerk Chelsey Schmidt, Jeff Falter, Road and Bridge Supervisor Jeff Falter, Administrative Supervisor Shelly Lautt, Morris County GOP Chairman Gary Floyd, Council Grove Republican Publisher Jan Sciacca and meeting facilitator James Crosby of the Kansas Department of Emergency Management.
