BRAVES FACE FALCONS

BRAVES FACE FALCONS

BRAVES FACE FALCONS-Quarterback Ace Monihen prepares to pass during The Council Grove Braves game against Riley County. The team was in action on Friday night against the Falcons of Riley County, losing 63-14. “The game was a re-run of what we’ve been through these last three weeks,” said Coach Butch Hayes. “We get down early, start hanging our heads a bit and before we know it, the game is out of reach. This has been the hardest stretch of football I’ve been through as a coach. We just need to keep our heads up and enjoy play and coaching the game. It’ll turn for us, we just need to stick together and take it one play at a time.” (Photo by Amber Weeks)

38 MILES

38 MILES -- Denise and Matthew Ehrlich completed the March of Dimes 38 Miles in September Challenge last month. The mother and son walked 38 miles in September on rural Morris County roads during the month. The 38 miles is symbolic of the 380,000 preterm births that occur in the country each year. Through online donations and per mile pledges, Denise and Matthew collected $650 for the organization. The March of Dimes mission statement is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, preterm births and infant mortality.
