There’s been a lot of hand-wringing in recent years about the death of local newspapers, those bastions of democracy and chroniclers of community.
The Council Grove High School Braves showcased their most complete game of the season so far, securing a commanding 42-0 win against league foe West Franklin. The Braves demonstrated clear dominance, outgaining the Falcons 387 to 63 in total yardage and amassing 20 first downs, significantly surpassing West Franklin’s 4. This game marked a season-high in both yardage and points for CG. It was also the team’s first shutout of the season.
Cub Scouts are officially back in Council Grove. David Starks, Senior District Executive of Boy Scouts of America, said 10 students showed up at the recent signup night. 6 have officially joined.
