The USD 417 Board of Education will meet for two meetings on Monday, October 9. There will be a meeting at 5 p.m. for Superintendent Evaluation, which will include an Executive Session regarding personnel. After the meeting, the regular October meeting will convene at 6 p.m. Both meetings will be held at the USD 417 District Office at 17 Wood St., Council Grove.
Tuesday, October 10, will be the last Morris County/Council Grove Farmers Market of the 2023 season. The market will be open 4-6 pm, at the corner of West Main and South Mission Street. Vendors will be offering fresh produce, eggs, jellies/ jams, sewn goods, handmade jewelry, handmade tote bags, crochet items, home canned goods, baked goods, and more.
Area youth are invited to attend a free shotgun and archery shooting and safety clinic on Saturday, October 21 at Council Grove Lake. This is a special event designed to encourage youth participation in outdoor shooting sports.
A summary of Tuesday’s Morris County Commission meeting discusses receiving one sealed bid for a three-year lease of the County Farm Property as follows: Bidder Darrell Litke, Amount $5,400. The commissioners approved the bid for a term of three years, January 1, 2024 – December 31, 2026.
