Time for Road Trip To Topeka, March 13, 2024 For LAVTR
Those who would like to see an additional $220,000+ added to the coffers of Morris County now and beyond and want to participate in the political process, are encouraged to consider a road trip to Topeka on Wednesday, March 13. House Bill 2815, which includes abolishing the local ad valorem tax reduction fund (LAVTR) we have talked about before, will be discussed at a hearing at 3:30 p.m. in Room 346-S of the Kansas Capitol.
MC Commission Meets With MCHS Regarding CCC Headquarters Building
At the Tuesday, March 5 meeting of the Morris County Commission, Travis Schweger, Noxious Weed & Waste Management Director, gave a report on the Noxious Weed and Waste Management Departments. Work on the Transfer Station scale continues. Ziegler Plumbing, Heating, Cooling and Electrical has completed the trenching. TCT will be running the CAT-5 cabling from the Transfer Station to the scale kiosk. Travis Scale Company will then be able to install and complete the cable connections to the scale kiosk.
