Carissa Dalquest, Morris County, is the winner of the $500 Godfrey and Emma Bahr-Miller Memorial Scholarship, a permanent, privately endowed scholarship fund for students attending a college in Kansas and majoring in a subject related to agriculture.

To Pave Over S. Mission, Wood St. Bricks, 4th Of July Fireworks Show On June 29
The Council Grove City Council met Tuesday evening at City Hall. The most controversial items of the night may be the council’s decision to have the annual fireworks show on Saturday, June 29 and to pave over two blocks of the city’s brick streets by next week.
Bed Bugs Reported To Be Rampant In Area
Last week the Council Grove Republican had its quarterly treatment for spiders and other pests that like living in historic buildings. The exterminator commented that at least we don’t have bed bugs, which started a conversation.
