Flint Hills Nature Trail – A Gem for Council Grove
Jeff Bender, Regional Supervisor for Kansas Department of Wildlife Parks and Tourism, was the guest speaker at the Council Grover Rotary Club a few days after Kansas Governor Kelly on August 11 made an historic announcement about the trail. $24.8 million has been sent to the State of Kansas to revamp trails along the Flint Hills Trail, made possible by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s “Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity” (RAISE) program.
White Memorial Camps Hosts Kansas National Guard Kids-Teen Camp
Forty-nine youth ages 8-18 spent a week at White Memorial Camp, near Council Grove, enjoying the great outdoors as participants in the Kansas National Guard’s Operation Kids-Teen Camp, July 24-28. The campers were all dependents of Kansas Army and Air National Guard Soldiers and Airmen.
New USD 417 District Site Council Members Needed
