Work has started on the new Council Grove Casey’s, located at Union and Market streets. Although the land seemed cleared previously, there was plenty of debris being dredged and cleared Monday afternoon.
On April 7, Jaitlyn Johnson, a senior at Northern Heights, shattered her personal best in the discus with a throw of 138 feet, 10 inches. Her mark is currently ranked second across all classes in Kansas. Her additional success in the 4x100 relay (8th in 2A) and shot put (11th in 2A) further establishes her as a force to be reckoned with in Class 2A.
A recent letter to the editor has raised questions about operations and oversight at Rural Water District No. 1 in Morris County, following a previously issued consent order from the Kansas Attorney General’s Office related to open records violations.
Council Grove FBLA had a successful State Leadership Conference in Topeka on March 30-31. There were 20 students attending with 4 students qualifying for the National Leadership Conference in San Antonio, TX this summer by placing in the Top 4 of their event. The students will have to choose one event to compete in at Nationals.
